Noida’s 7-yr-old girl wins Doodle4Google 2011

A hundred and fifty five thousand Indian kids tried drawing a logo or doodle for Google this year. The theme set by Google was ‘India’s gift to the world’. The drawings were screened by the JJ School of Art in Mumbai and finally put up for voting online. Artists who draw doodles for Google professionally were also called in to judge the logos made by the children. ibnlive.com

How would the US government show that porn laws aren’t working by examining Google searches?

Question by rahidz2003: How would the US government show that porn laws aren’t working by examining Google searches?
From the Yahoo! News article : “By showing the wide variety of Web sites that people find through search engines, the government hopes to prove Internet filters are not strong enough to prevent children from viewing pornography and other inappropriate material online.”

So how does saying “See? 200 out of 1000 searches are for porn” or something of those lines say ANYTHING about effectiveness of filters, and how do you differentiate between legal adults viewing legal porn vs. some minor sneaking into his parent’s computer and searching for it? (The article says the searches WOULD NOT be personally identifiable).

Just wondering what the hell the government wants do with the Google searches, save for alienating the three libertarians still voting Republican ;)

It’s not so much as someone typing “porn” into a search engine, as it is some kid typing “kitty” in a search engine and coming up with “Miss Kitty’s Playhouse.”
